TITLE:                        Associate Vice President, Business Development                   

           

REPORTS TO:           President         

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

This position is responsible for developing and managing a generic portfolio strategy that supports the growth and financial objectives of the company.  The AVPBD will identify, investigate, and analyze new opportunities for strategic fit with our business goals. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this position plays an integral part in the in the expansion of our product portfolio through business development initiatives founded on existing as well as future strategic alliances.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Lead and pursue product opportunity evaluations for the company’s portfolio, including co-development, in-licensing, acquisitions, strategic alliances, gap analysis, forecasting, valuation, and agreement negotiations.

 

  • Develop and present product level reports that clearly illustrate current performance and trends, and where necessary, prescribe needed course corrections. Provide executive level interpretation of data and ensure that decisions are derived based on strong analytical rigor and deep understanding of market dynamics.

 

  • Oversee product opportunity evaluations, including co-development, in-licensing, acquisitions, strategic alliances, forecasting, valuation, and agreement negotiations.

 

  • Develop portfolio management strategies for advancing and executing the company’s long-term strategic plan.

 

  • Develop strategies for advancing and commercializing the company’s assets in order to maximize their value.

 

  • Responsible for vendor relationship management, building and maintaining good relations with the company’s partners, customers and suppliers, as well as coordinating and attending necessary trade functions.

 

  • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to develop and drive transactions and strategies, including those in the Sales, Finance, Legal and Regulatory Departments.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • An experienced Executive in the Pharmaceutical Industry and a proven track record in Business Development, Corporate Strategy, Leadership and Operations Management. 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an industry related field.   Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.

 

  • 12 -15 years of industry experience in Business Development, Operations Management and/or Alliance Management.

 

  • Must possess excellent written and verbal skills.
