DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

JOB SUMMARY:

This position’s objectives include providing financial analysis, forecasting, modeling and budgeting support to company management and parent company executives.  This position will be actively involved in analysis, support and forecasting of operating revenue and expenses.  In addition, strong relationship and communication skills are required to liaise with other teams.  Involvement in various special and ad hoc assignments will be required. 

 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Improve financial results by creating and analyzing reports, monitoring variances, identifying trends and recommending actions to management.

·         Gather, organize and analyze financial data from all departments and sources

·         Analyze research to provide summaries, reports and presentations, illustrating data in tables as well as graphically and translate findings into written text.

·         Run and analyze standardized JD Edwards, Cognos and iContracts reports, as well as develop new reports as needed to help manage the business

·         Compile data and prepare a variety of reports as requested by SVP Finance and Pensa CFO

·         Aid in budgeting and forecasting activities.

·         Work closely with others in the department to assure timely and accurate reporting of the quarterly reporting package to our Parent. 

·         Provide financial analysis to evaluate company ventures, special projects, programs, capital expenditures, cost accounting analysis, etc. as necessary.

·         Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting general ledger

structure.

·         Ability to work cohesively with IT department as well as external IT consultants to develop reports, systems, etc. to aid in analyzing financial data. 

  • Assist to assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.
  • Assist in providing reports to help on year-end audit.

·         Design and lead the implementation of a system for managing “Most Favored Nation” customer pricing provisions.

·         Help to improve systems surrounding cash forecasting and working capital improvement initiatives.

·         Over time, shadow SVP Finance and Administration, Director of Finance and Accounting and Senior Manager Finance and Accounting to help further your understanding of all aspects of the Finance department

 

THE PERSON

  • The Director of Financial Analysis will bring a blend of strategic and operational expertise and a record of accomplishment of leadership experience in diverse, fast changing environments while analyzing operational results. To be measured through referenceable examples of strategic and operational contributions and the resulting affect.
  • The successful candidate will have the experience and passion to help scale and grow a complex business, including a demonstrated track of success assisting progressive organizational change. Measures of demonstrated experience to include examples of growth in revenues and margins, market share, and product lines; team building, process development and systems that has supported quantifiable business scaling, processes and systems.
  • While having significant experience in a like position of a mid/large-sized publicly traded company, the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with an advanced degree in finance, accounting or business administration preferred.
  • Substantial experience working with the Audit Committee of publicly traded firms, international banking, and financial accounting and reporting including budgeting, financial analysis and managerial and cost accounting.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience combined in public accounting as well as in a publicly traded company
  • Previous experience with SEC reporting and working with a multinational complex matrix organization a plus
  • Must be influential and a good communicator
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA a plus
  • Pharmaceutical or Life Science Industry a plus
